Freight Wars
A downloadable game for Windows
Freight Wars puts you in the shoes of a Victorian industrialist and tasks you to build a mighty transportation network. Players begin by picking either roads, rivers, or railways and try to connect as many towns as possible to their network(s), while blocking the routes of their opponents
Written for procjam, the procedural generation jam, Freight Wars tiles are all generated from a complex set of rules which means that no two sets of Freight Wars tiles are alike, and since the game revolves around building the landscape of the industrial world, the game is itself an act of procedural generation.
Players are given significant freedom over the generation processes and final output, and various alternative rules are suggested.
NOTE: If you have any trouble printing your tiles, please do try to save to PDF and print that instead. I suspect I may be missing a DLL somewhere. Qt Apps are terribly fiddly to package up correctly. Please let me know if you have any problems with the game.
